George Ruffin marries Josephine St. Pierre.
1858
The couple move to a home at 103 Charles Street. They also establish a salon there, which W.E.B. Du Bois describes as, “A place where the] high and mighty freeborn families – Grimkés, Pindells, Trotters and others [who] . . . met and ate, danced and argued and planned a new world.”
